Ray's on the River no more?

Ray’s on the River

Atlanta, Vinings, Smyrna

Ray’s on the River no more?

Zoning hearings are now happening for the strip of land that runs along Powers Ferry Rd. and I-285 on the inside of the perimeter. The stretch of office buildings, which includes Rays on the River, is part of the Powers Ferry Landing complex.

The owner of the land has been working with a developer to level everything from Olives down to the water’s edge to make room for condominiums, townhomes and single family homes. This appears that it would include the building that currently houses Ray’s on the River.

The developer of the land has been in negotiations with about 80 homeowners who live on the adjacent properties overlooking this stretch of office space since any redevelopment or rezoning requires their approval. The residents were initially opposed to several elements of the original rezoning which made room for affordable condos at a higher density level. It appears a compromise has been reached though no details are forth coming as yet.

As far as Ray’s on the River goes, there has been no word on their future since the zoning hearing has yet to occur.
