The Timbers of Vinings at cool in a sort of funky way.

And I mean this with all the best intentions, the Timbers at Vinings are a townhome, townhouse, condo or condominium styled community (not quite sure) built about in the 70s - I think. It has been about five years since I was last in one.

James Creek townhomes in Historic Vinings is something of a surprise.

There are three quality levels of townhomes being built around Atlanta now. The first level comprises of what you might say is a “traditional” town house design typical of the 1970’s, 80’s and early 90’s. This “traditional” design consisted of 8-foot ceilings, 1,500 to 1,800 square feet of living space and built of the cheapest possible materials. This “traditional” style is rarely built close to the city anymore and you tend to only find them further out in the suburbs as entry-level homes by entry-level builders.

Vinings Central is not exactly in central Vinings, but more towards the furthest possible southern tip. Located near the intersection of I-285 and Atlanta Rd., this community sits on 21 acres of forested property and easy highway access.

The Heights at Spring Rd. is a multi-unit condominium complex built in 1999 and 2000 respectively. Located on Spring Rd., just outside I-285 in Smyrna, The Heights at Spring Road is in an area that is aggressively growing with new construction.

Oakley Downs

Oakley Downs Townhomes in Vinings and Smyrna are probably one of the coolest townhouse communities around Vinings. Although I would classify Oakley Downs as being very much in Smyrna, this community definitely deserves to be written about. Of course, with all of Vinings communities, there is both bad to go along with the good, but for now, we will focus on the good.

Essex House Condos

Essex House Condos in downtown Historic Vinings are a personal favorite of my mine. If you are ones of those naysayers who complain about the quality of modern construction, you need to check out Essex House Condominiums.

Chattahoochee Chase

Chattahoochee Chase Townhomes are well known. You probably do not recognize the name, but you have seen them hundreds of times. As you pass over the Chattahoochee River on I-285, they are positioned right on the rivers banks opposite from Ray’s on the River. If you have looked for a townhome in the 30339 or 30080 zip code, this is probably one community will want to check out.

Mosaic at Vinings is a perfect example of why Atlanta Townhomes have become so popular.

Mosaic at Vinings Townhomes are located on Spring Rd in the Smyrna/Vinings areas about 2 miles outside of I-285. Starting in the mid $250s, Mosaic at Vinings represents probably one of the most affordable Atlanta Townhome offerings along the perimeter.

Vinings View Condos

The owners who live in Vinings View Condominiums are probably elated at this point.

For years, Vinings View has been sort of tucked away on some bluffs overlooking Historic Vinings. Although they are within walking distances of the historic district, nobody ever knew they were there. Most still don’t.

Oakdale Bluffs

While Oakdale Bluffs is well outside the Vinings area, however this particular community has caught the interest of home buyers. Currently under construction by Ashton Woods, Oakdale Bluffs features floorplans popular among two other Vinings area communities with one notable addition. The builder has allowed for an upgrade that extends the back bedroom outward and hence, the mid-level as well which creates a sunroom.
